Glass type

Toughened laminated glass

Two or more toughened panes bonded with an interlayer. It is strong like toughened glass, and if a pane breaks the pieces stay stuck to the interlayer, so the glass stays in place.

Toughening and processing

Toughening
Each pane is toughened before the panes are laminated, so every size and hole is fixed first.
Processing
Edges polished after lamination.
Note 1
Thickness is the panes plus the interlayer: 17.5 mm is two 8 mm panes with a 1.5 mm interlayer.

Care

  • Laminated glass edges are sealed with a neutral-cure silicone that is compatible with the interlayer. Acetic (vinegar-smelling) silicone and solvent sealants attack the interlayer and the edge clouds.
