Every registered customer gets a membership card with their own account number, and you can keep it in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The card shows your name and account number with a barcode. At either branch the counter scans it to bring up your account. We do not charge a membership fee, and balances are never printed on the card.

What is on the card?

  • Your name, as the account holder.
  • Your account number, which stays the same for the life of the account.
  • A barcode carrying that account number, for the counter to scan.
  • Your account type, retail or trade.

If your account is upgraded to trade, the same card is updated to trade and keeps its account number. If your phone still shows the old type, remove the card and add it again from your account page.

The card does not show a balance, a credit limit or any order details. Sign in to your account or ask at the counter for those. It identifies your account and nothing more: it is not a bank card or a payment method, and it does not prove that credit is approved or that an invoice has been paid.

How do I add the card to my phone?

  1. Step 1: Open your welcome email

When you create an account, the welcome email carries the card: an Apple Wallet pass attached, and a "Save to Google Wallet" link.

  2. Step 2: On an iPhone, open the pass

Tap the attached pass and choose to add it. It then sits in Apple Wallet.

  3. Tap "Save to Google Wallet" and follow the prompts.

  4. Step 4: Or add it from your account

Sign in. Your account page offers "Add to Apple Wallet" and "Save to Google Wallet" under "Add your membership card to your phone".

If one wallet could not be prepared when you signed up, the welcome email goes with the one that worked. We then finish the same card and send a short "Your card is ready" email with the missing one. Your account page offers both in any case.

How do I use it at the counter?

Open the card at the till and let the counter scan the barcode. That brings up your account, so the sale is recorded against it and your paperwork lands in one place. If your phone is not to hand, give your account number instead. The counter can also look you up by name. For a collection, the team may still ask for the order reference.

Keep the card to yourself. Do not post the barcode online or forward the pass to someone else. If a colleague needs to order or collect for your business, arrange that with us on the account. If you lose your phone, tell us so we can check the account, and use your phone maker's lost-device tools.

Are there other cards?

Yes. A gift card can be added to your phone as well, with "Add this gift card to your phone". It is a separate pass from your membership card. It carries the gift card's code, not its balance: ask at either branch or check online with the code. See gift cards.

Is there a membership fee?

No. We do not charge a membership fee. The card comes with your account.

Where to go next

Questions we get asked

I deleted the card from my wallet. Can I get it back?

Yes. Sign in and add it again from your account page. It is the same card with the same account number.

Does the card show my balance?

No. Balances are never printed on the card. Sign in or ask at either branch for the up-to-date figure.

Do I get a new card when I become a trade customer?

No. The card you have is updated to trade and keeps its account number. Add it again from your account page if your phone still shows retail.

My phone has no wallet app

Use your account number instead. The counter can look it up at any time, and it does the same job.
