Trade pricing: how it works

How trade prices apply when you sign in, why prices show without VAT, how quotes and the deposit rule work for trade, and what a trade account does not change.

On this page

We have two price levels, retail and trade. Trade prices apply once your trade account is approved and you are signed in. They come from our trade price book, on the shop and in the configurator, with no codes to enter. Signed-in trade customers see prices without VAT by default, and every invoice still shows net, VAT and the total.

How do I see trade prices?

  1. Step 1: Have your trade account approved

Apply on our trade page. A manager checks every application and emails you the result.

  2. Step 2: Sign in before you price

Prices follow the account you are signed in to. Signed out, the site shows retail prices including VAT, the same as any visitor sees.

  3. Step 3: Price as normal

Use the shop, the configurator or quick order. The price on screen is your trade price from the trade price book wherever it covers the item.

  4. Step 4: Check the VAT display

The VAT toggle switches the display between with and without VAT. Your choice sticks until you change it.

Why are trade prices shown without VAT?

Most trade customers quote their own clients without VAT and claim it back, so the number on screen is the number for your estimate. It is a display choice only. The amount charged is always the total including VAT at 20%, and every invoice, quote and credit note itemises net, VAT and gross. Read prices with and without VAT for how the toggle works.

Are there discount codes for trade?

No. Your trade prices apply automatically when you are signed in, and there is nothing to type at checkout to get your price.

How do quotes work on a trade account?

Some jobs are priced by our team rather than online, such as a shape sent as a template or an item the price book does not cover. You get a written quote, priced on your account.

When a quote is accepted and paid by card, the same payment rule applies to every customer. A quote total under £2,500 including VAT is paid in full when you accept it. At £2,500 or more, a 50% deposit is paid when you accept, and the balance before delivery or fitting.

An account with agreed credit terms can have a quote converted to an order on account instead. That is credit, not an acceptance payment, so it is invoiced in full on your normal terms with no deposit split. See quote payments and deposits.

What does a trade account not change?

  • Your statutory rights are the same. Business buyers do not have the consumer cancellation right, but goods must still be as described and fit for purpose.
  • Made-to-measure is still made to measure. Glass cut to your sizes cannot be returned for a change of mind, trade or retail.
  • Delivery works the same way. Checkout shows the delivery charge for your postcode where it can price it, or we confirm the cost and day by phone before we send the order.
  • Credit is separate. Trade pricing does not mean you can pay later. That needs a credit account.

Questions we get asked

Why can I not see trade prices?

You need to be signed in to an approved trade account. If your application is still being checked, the site shows retail prices until it is approved.

Is VAT added at checkout if prices show without it?

The checkout itemises goods without VAT, VAT at 20% and the total including VAT, and the total is what is charged. The display setting never changes the amount.

How do I use my account at the counter?

Ask at the counter. Scan your wallet card or give your account number at either branch, and the counter brings up your account.

Does the deposit rule apply to my account orders?

Only when you accept a quote and pay by card. An order placed on agreed credit terms is invoiced in full on those terms.
