You can order glass and splashback colour samples from our samples page. Pick up to six glass types and colours for one request, then collect them free from a branch or have them posted to you. A sample in your own light shows the tint, the texture and the colour far better than a screen. Made-to-measure glass cannot be returned for a change of mind, so a sample is the place to decide.

How do I order samples?

  1. Step 1: Open the samples page

Go to samples and browse the glass types and splashback colours.

  2. Step 2: Fill your tray

Add up to six glass types and colours to your tray for one request. Where a sample pack is offered, you can buy it straight into your basket instead.

  3. Step 3: Choose collect or post

Collect free from a branch, or have them sent to you. For a requested swatch we confirm postage with you before sending.

  4. Step 4: Look in your own light

Hold each sample by the window, under the kitchen or bathroom lights, and against the wall colour.

  5. Step 5: Order the real piece

Price it in the configurator, with a drawing before anything is cut.

What does postage cost?

Samples sent to you are charged postage at the standard delivery rate for your postcode, the same rate as any other order. There is no reduced rate for small items.

  • For a sample pack bought online, the postage is shown at checkout before you pay.
  • For a requested swatch, we confirm the postage with you before we send it.
  • Collection from a branch is free.

How do I judge a sample?

  • Tint: clear glass has a green edge, and low-iron glass is much clearer. Lay the sample on white paper to compare. See clear, low-iron and tinted glass.
  • Colour: a back-painted splashback colour looks different in daylight and under warm bulbs. Check it at the time of day you use the room most.
  • Texture: patterned and frosted glass hide different amounts. Hold the sample a hand's width in front of a printed page.
  • Next to your finishes: put the sample against the tiles, worktop or paint it will sit beside.

Does a sample match my order exactly?

A sample shows the glass type and colour. Glass is made in batches, so a small difference between a sample and a finished panel can happen, especially in thicker glass, where the edge colour looks stronger. If an exact match matters, say so when you order, and tell us if the panel will sit beside existing glass.

Read visual quality and tolerances for what is normal in finished glass.
